XLF priced in Uruguayan pesos

The price of Financial Select Sector SPDR (XLF) expressed in Uruguayan pesos (UYU), converted day by day at each date's USD exchange rate. The U.S. financial sector.

Why in Uruguayan pesos?

Viewing an asset in pesos shows what it's worth in the currency you use every day. It lets you compare directly to local prices, salaries, and other UYU assets — and toggle the UI line to see whether the ETF beat Uruguayan inflation.

How is it computed?

We take XLF's adjusted close (with dividends reinvested, in dollars) and multiply it by that day's USD→UYU rate. We never apply today's rate to past dates: every point uses the exchange rate of its own day.

Frequently asked questions

What is XLF worth in Uruguayan pesos?

The value comes from converting XLF's dollar price to pesos at each day's exchange rate. The chart above shows the latest value in UYU and its full history; hover to read any date.

Does XLF beat inflation in Uruguay?

Toggle "Compare with UI" on the chart to overlay the unidad indexada as a reference. If the ETF curve is above it, the asset beat Uruguayan inflation; if below, inflation won.

Why does the peso price change even when the ETF doesn't move?

Because the USD/UYU exchange rate fluctuates. If the dollar rises against the peso, the ETF's UYU value rises even if its dollar price is unchanged. This means peso returns differ from dollar returns.

How is XLF's value in pesos computed?

We take XLF's adjusted close —with dividends reinvested, in dollars— and multiply it by each date's USD→UYU rate. Every point uses the exchange rate of its own day, never today's.
